The old adage of, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” applies here at Countryside Large Animal. Whether it is your horses, cattle herd, 4-H projects, or other small ruminants, there are vaccines and de-wormers to decrease or prevent a host of diseases. While several of these vaccines can be purchased over the counter, you and our animals will benefit by having one of our veterinarians directly involved with your routine inoculations. This is a newly offered program with our ultimate goal being a healthier animal and a stronger ongoing relationship between the veterinarian and your animals. We will design an individualized program for each and every animal based on their age, general purpose, and historical circumstances. These recommendations will range from vaccines, dentistry, and any other individualized health issues that will need to be addressed. Please contact us to start designing a program for your animals today.
Preventative Treatment for Infectious Diseases
We strive to avoid serious problems before they happen, administering vaccinations for tetanus, equine encephalomyelitis, West Nile Virus, Rabies, Influenza, Equine Rhinopneumonitis, and other preventable infectious diseases.
Treatment for Congenital Conditions
Some livestock and equine may have a congenital condition, ranging from hypothyroidism to stationary night blindness. We’ll diagnose your livestock and equine’s problems and make our best treatment recommendations.
DEWORMING AND TREATMENT FOR INTERNAL PARASITES
Unfortunately, all livestock and equine are susceptible to worms and other internal parasites. Regular deworming is a crucial part of your horse’s health. We’ll review your current regimen of deworming medications and possibly prescribe new ones. We recommend annual fecal exams to accurately target parasites.
