Whether you are going to a show, selling livestock, or putting them out to pasture, health certificates or Certified Veterinary Inspections (CVI’s) are commonly required to travel with your horses and livestock from state to state or rodeo to rodeo! Any time you are planning a road trip, you need to check your trailer brakes and lights, as well as the tire pressure all around but one thing that commonly gets missed is a health certificate for crossing state lines or entering show grounds. When we write health certificates we check for identification and testing requirements for each destination and species you are traveling with. When you come in for a health certificate exam you should bring with you the name address and phone number of current animal location as well as the destination.

UPDATE for Horse Owners** Colorado now accepts Extended Equine Certified Veterinary Inspections (EECVI’s)!!!!!!!!!!!!

What this means is through GlobalVetLink we are able to write a health certificate that gives you access to a portal to write your own travel permit to wherever your travels take you with 24/7 access for 6 months. Ask the vets or the front office for more information regarding EECVI’s.

The states that are participating in the EECVI program at this time include: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming. Many east coast states are still catching up.
